I received my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California and a B.Tech. degree in Instrumentation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. I currently work for the Affective Artificial Intelligence group at Sony Interactive Entertainment R&D, USA. I am originally from Kolkata, India.

My broad research interests lie in the field of Signal Processing and Machine Learning for speech, multimedia and multimodal applications. While the diverse nature of my work allows for exploration of fields not traditionally considered Signal Processing, it often also inspires new ideas that can only come as a result of thinking out of the box.
